Here is the
information on the OPWDD SLMS system.

Please direct staff from the
voluntary agencies to the OPWDD website

https://opwdd.ny.gov/opwdd_careers_training/training_opportunities/slms-account-creation

to create an SLMS account. The link
on that page allows the learner to create an account that is linked to OPWDD’S
external learning environment.

If learners have questions or need
assistance they can call 518-473-1190 or email
TalentDevelopment@opwdd.ny.gov.

Here is extra help in setting up your SLMS account:

Create an SLMS account and enroll in training classes

Each person who wants to enroll in classes will need to create an account by filling in the form that can be found by clicking this link: http://www.opwdd.ny.gov/opwdd_careers_training/training_opportunities/slms-account-creation and then clicking the link for OPWDD External User Registration.

After creating an account they will be logged in to the Statewide Learning Management System (SLMS). There is a list of Quick Links on the homepage, and two of them will be used for most SLMS tasks.

Useful Quick Links:

  1. Find Learning
    • clicking this quick link will take you to a list of the available classes
    • click View All to display all of the available courses in alphabetical order
    • to enroll in a class, click the Enroll button next to the class date/location then click Submit Enrollment on the next page
  2. My Learning
    • clicking this link will take you to your training history
    • you will see all classes you’ve enrolled in
    • you can print certificates for classes that you have completed

If a user is not automatically logged in after creating their account, they can go to https://nyslearn.ny.gov/ and click SLMS login. Then they should login using the email address they used to create the account as their username, and the initial password (welcome1).

We are here to help. Anyone that has trouble with SLMS can contact Talent Development & Training by phone (518-473-1190) or email (TalentDevelopment@opwdd.ny.gov).
